Job Summary:
EVS Specialist:
Cleans and maintains all public areas in a manner which reflects the high standard of excellence of the Harrah’s Northern California.
EVS Lead:
Leads the general EVS duties as assigned by regular schedule. Communicates shift team’s daily assignments and training. Updates all departmental logs to include outages that arise on shift. Ensures transitions between shifts are smooth and orderly.

Qualifications:
- Required minimum of 1-year experience as an EVS cleaner or equivalent.
- Must be a least 21 years of age.
- Preferred prior custodial or housekeeping experience.
- Must able to operate vacuum cleaners and floor cleaning equipment (mop, broom, etc.)
- Required strong understanding and working knowledge of cleaning chemicals, cleaning techniques, and cleaning equipment.
- Required knowledge of HAZZ, COMM and BBP.
- Must possess strong people skills and problem-solving ability.
- Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office.
- Preferred experience leading large work teams.
Essential Job Functions:
EVS Specialist:
- Maintains cleanliness of assigned areas.
- Cleans and sweeps paper and debris off the floor.
- Cleans and maintains slot machines and stands.
- Cleans walls, stalls, shelving, telephones, brass rails, doors, glass, mirrors and any surface needing cleaning attention.
- Maintains cleanliness of restrooms.
- Cleans and refreshes ashtrays and ash urns.
- Restocks work area with supplies (paper products) and chemicals.
- Performs proper and trained cleaning procedures when blood borne pathogens are involved.
- Vacuums and mops.
- Removes trash.
- Removes or transports items from one area to another as assigned.
- Completes all tasks as assigned by supervisor.
- All team members will follow the Everyone Greets Everyone (EGE) policy. It is the expectation that every team member, front or back of house, should proactively seek out opportunities to greet guests and their fellow team members daily. EGE policy states teams members should: acknowledge guests and fellow team members within 10 feet; initiate friendly verbal greeting within 5 feet; keep your head up, look around (“head on a swivel”); look for opportunities to greet guests and others; please remember that when you are on the floor, you are “on stage”.
- Team members will participate in all mandatory meetings and pre-shift BUZZ sessions.
- Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Must be able to respond to visual and aural ques.
- Must present a well-groomed, professional appearance.
- Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and complies with all state, federal and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Must be able to work a varied schedule including holidays, nights and weekends as needed.
- Must be able to work a reasonable amount of overtime when required.
- Perform other duties as assigned traditionally performed by Environmental Services Specialists.
- Performs all job functions of the Environmental Services Specialist and Environmental Services Specialist Cleaner Heavy Duty.
- Provides and administers all new hire training.
- Maintains key control.
- Accountable for follow-through with department walk-through, special cleaning projects and the maintaining of department cleanliness standards.

EVS Lead:
Physical, Mental & Environmental Demands:
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Must be able to manage several tasks during shift.
- Must be able to work around crowded areas.
- Able to stoop, bend, reach and pull around casino & restroom areas.
- Able to tolerate cleaning chemicals without developing an allergic reaction.
- Must be able to work in areas containing secondhand smoke, dust, loud noises and bright lights.
