Event Stage Light/Sound Tech

Job Summary:

This position will be responsible for the operations, repair, and technical work of the stage sets, sound, and lighting systems in entertainment areas and event venues. Secondary responsibilities to include setup and operations of sound and light systems for other locations on and off property as required.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years live sound and lighting engineering experience.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Able to read, comprehend, and apply technical material.
  • Must communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Must have an awareness of job responsibilities and effectively apply them.
  • Must interact with team members, outside agencies, and performers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Must display a positive attitude while working multiple priorities and tasks.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for the safety, proper maintenance, repair, and technical work of any stage sets meeting spaces, and entertainment venues.
  • Sets up and maintains the sound and lighting systems in entertainment areas and venues.
  • Operates the sound and light systems for assigned shows and events. 
  • Ensures proper lighting for stage and entertainment areas and venues.
  • Oversees setup and strike of band equipment for different acts in entertainment areas and venues.
  • Conducts sound and lighting checks for bands’ performances and other events.
  • Advises in sound and lighting equipment purchases and setup.
  • Ensures proper lighting for stage, conventions, and special projects.
  • Operates motorized vehicles, i.e. hydraulic and electrically powered hi-reach (man lift) and hand tools.
  • Maintains Inventory of Equipment.
  • Diagnose and correct media system problems.
  • Acts as a role model and presents oneself as a credit to Harrah’s and encourages
  • others to do the same.
  • All team members will follow the Everyone Greets Everyone (EGE) policy.   • Team members will participate in all mandatory meetings and pre-shift BUZZ sessions.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must present a well-groomed, professional appearance.
  • Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and complies with all state, federal and regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to work a varied schedule including holidays, nights and weekends as needed.
  • Must be able to work a reasonable amount of overtime when required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Must be flexible in a demanding environment.

  • Must be able to work in an environment ranging from controlled to moderately severe.
  • Must be able to climb, stand, bend, and stoop.
  • Must be able to work in cramped areas for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs.
