JOB SUMMARY:

Direct and oversee the daily operations of the Security, Surveillance, and Compliance & Risk departments. Supporting successful development and implementation of safety, security and regulatory compliance initiatives Oversee risk management programs and ensure compliance with all federal, state and local regulatory compliance. Responsibilities for the overall safety and security of the property.

 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Degree in Criminal Justice or equivalent work experience in law enforcement. Two or more years in Casino industry and five or more years in Security & Surveillance with at least 3 years in management.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced knowledge and/or experience in casino operations, surveillance and safety
  • Technical knowledge of OSHA, HACCP (Food Safety), DOT, NFPA, EPA, FAA, NTSB and working knowledge of security operations
  • Broad knowledge of casino cashiering, casino operations or income control.
  • Fluency and literacy in English
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Excellent guest service skills: must be adept at resolving conflicts to enhance guest experiences and uphold property standards.
  • Ability to handle emergency and security-related issues effectively
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business

 KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Serve as a leader, motivating team members by fostering teamwork, high morale, and open communication. Provide direction and support to achieve property goals and objectives through fair application of policies and procedures.
  • Create an environment where flawless delivery and execution of service is paramount and rewarded.
  • Act as a role model, developing team members while clearly articulating expectations. Ensure each team member understands and is accountable for their performance expectations.
  • Coach and develop supervisor/manager skills in performance management, fair treatment, customer service management and assist in diagnosing and designing solutions to improve service quality.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Security, Surveillance, and Compliance & Risk Departments
  • Responsible for the budgetary control of all departments within the Security, Surveillance, and Risk & Compliance operations and functions.
  • Coordinates Security, Surveillance, and Compliance & Risk operations with other departments to ensure the highest degree of customer satisfaction and efficient operation.
  • Maintains compliance with all Gaming laws and regulations.
  • Directs the development and implementation of a formal inspection program for hazard identification and resolution.
  • Oversee the risk management of Title 31 and SARC review and reporting and Title 31
  • Oversee communication of loss exposures relating to general liability, workers compensation, garage keepers’ liability, security and asset protection, regulatory compliance, emergency preparedness and evaluates/recommends/implements appropriate solutions
  • Administers training programs which will ensure effective security and surveillance of gaming and money-handling activities. Strives to improve and streamline departmental operations through the continuous assessment of policies and procedures, work processes and program effectiveness/value.
  • Coordinates scheduled reviews and corrective action of departmental policies, procedures and controls to maintain the necessary controls required to safeguard the property’s assets and integrity, utilizing company guidelines.
  • Coordinates scheduled reviews of SDS, CMS, LMS, MICROS, and any other systems to ensure compliance and controls are properly enforced.
  • Ensures procedural compliance in relation to MICS and ICS in the operational areas through observations and audits of performance of daily tasks in each area.
  • Monitor Title 31 audit paperwork to ensure proper procedures are followed, check for variances/discrepancies, and resolve them.
  • Oversee Title 31 and SARC review and reporting and Title 31 training.
  • Develop and implement systems for reporting any variances, proposals for corrective action, and carrying out agreed upon action.
  • Monitor and report issues that do not align with sound auditing or company accounting procedures.
  • Identifies opportunities to automate manual processes and increase the ability to perform thorough audits.
  • Identify and safeguard confidential information according to procedures.
  • Interact closely with other members of the senior management.
  • Lead the organization ethically and in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Identify compliance risks and take actions necessary to eliminate or minimize risks.
  • Champion honesty, integrity, and responsible corporate behavior within the organization.
  • Create a compliance culture within the organization and foster an environment where employees feel comfortable reporting potential violations or misconduct.

  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods.
  • Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the hotel/casino. 
  • Must be able to respond calmly in crisis and stressful situations. 
  • Must be able to see and, also, remember the specific details of incidents and people. 
  • Must be able to give court testimony when necessary and write detailed reports. 
  • Must be able to work overtime and work different shifts on short notice.  
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.  
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.
