Job Summary

Act as an integral part of the financial/strategic planning team by providing analytical support to all internal operating departments.  Performs research and analysis of the competitive environment.  Assists in all areas of the annual Budget, and Long-Range Plan preparation, as well as preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly financial and operational reports. 

Qualifications

  • Experienced in use of Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Access, Word and PowerPoint).  Also, able to quickly learn other IT software. 
  • Knowledge of SQL, Tableau, SmartView desired
  • Familiar with general financial principles including but not limited to the concepts of revenue and expenses and Profit and Loss financial statements.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.  
  • Strong Analytical Skills and Understanding of Forecasting Procedures
  • Must work well with multi-functional work teams and be willing to take initiative.  
  • Knowledge of gaming industry is desired.  
  • Two years’ work experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting or related field desired.
  • Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team. 
  • Must be able to work independently in an unstructured environment.  
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.  
  • Willing to be flexible in work hours depending on assignments & timelines. 
  • Attention to detail. 
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have good problem-solving techniques.  
  • Must be self-motivated and able to handle more than one function at a time by being well organized.  
  • Must be able to continuously maneuver around office, effectively work at a desk, and respond to written and aural cues.  
  • Must have the manual dexterity to operate the computer and necessary office equipment.  
  • Must be able to read write and speak English.  
  • Must be able to respond calmly to demands of internal customers and work in pressure situations.

 Essential Job Functions:

  • Supports function of the Department Manager and Director of Finance.
  • Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
  • Organizes data residing in the Financial Planning Department.
  • Manages data accessibility within the Financial Planning Department.
  • Collaborate with department heads to ensure accurate financial planning and cost control.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial models to support business scenarios and planning.
  • Able to retrieve needed data from a variety of sources.
  • Works with operating departments to help Department on a regular basis.  
  • Assists as needed in preparing budgets, operating reviews, and financial packages for presentation. 
  • Communicates clearly both orally and thorough written analysis, charts and graphs.
  • Effectively communicates complex information through clear oral and written analysis, supplemented by visual representations such as charts and graphs.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Support monthly closing processes and assist with audit preparations.
  • Responsible for extraction, manipulation, analysis and reporting of data from Harrah’s Customer Data Sources on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly & annual basis. 
  • Produce written reports on the analysis, and from time to time, give oral presentations on their findings to property senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with gaming regulations and internal controls. 
  • Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies. 
  • Must be able to work a reasonable amount of overtime when required.
